The CubeSat Control Centre (C3) is the first Ground Segment to support CubeSat operations directly from Politecnico di Torino, composed by a Ground Station and a Control Centre. The Ground Station will be inspired by radio amateur stations but will have capabilities beyond them, supporting full duplex communication with satellites in Low Earth Orbit in VHF/UHF, S and X band; while the Control Centre will be able to manage the data from/to the users and will be the Mission and Spacecraft Operation Control Centre of SROC, supporting the spacecraft during all its phases.

  • To support CubeSats operations from PoliTo with capabilities and performance beyond traditional
radio-amateur capabilities, but at a lower cost than professionally-driven ground segments.

  • To be the Control Centre for SROC‘s mission, spacecraft and payload.

Strong Aspects

Tradition

Tradition

C3 will be inspired by radio amateur stations to reduce the cost of the hardware and its complexity

Education

Education

Will be operated by students and non-professionals, giving the possibility to learn how a ground station and a control centre works

Technology
